Data & Retention Policy

Sequal App is a registered business name of Cybertech Solutions (ACN 631 941 841 · ABN 70 631 941 841). We operate from Queensland, Australia.

This document is general information, not legal advice. It is provided as a good-faith, industry-standard draft and should be reviewed by an Australian legal practitioner before you rely on it.

This policy explains how Sequal App, a registered business name of Cybertech Solutions, handles, stores and retains data. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information under the Australian Privacy Principles.

1. Our approach

  • Local-first. Your library is stored on your device and works without an account.
  • Cloud is opt-in. Data only leaves your device when you turn on cloud sync (Sequal Pro) and choose to back up.
  • Minimise & expire. We keep data only as long as we need it, and expire operational data on a schedule.

2. Retention periods

The table below sets out the main retention periods. Some periods are configurable and may be adjusted; we will keep this page current.

3. What happens when a subscription ends

If you cancel or your Sequal Pro subscription lapses, your cloud copy (synced content and media) is kept for a 30-day grace period and then permanently removed unless you resubscribe. We email you when access ends, and again as reminders before deletion (by default about 7 days and 1 day beforehand). Your local library is never deleted by us — it stays on your device.

4. Account deletion and anonymisation

When you request account deletion, we start a 30-day cooling-off period during which you can change your mind by signing in. After it, we anonymise your personal details (name, email, mobile number, sign-in identifiers and security data) and remove your cloud-stored content. Limited financial and transaction records are retained where the law requires.

5. Cloud storage limit

Sequal Pro includes 1 GB of cloud media storage per account. This limit applies to audio, video and images synced to the cloud; media kept only on your device does not count toward it. If you reach the limit, you can remove media or free up space before adding more.

6. Backups

Where cloud sync is used, backups are managed by our infrastructure providers as part of operating the Service. Backups exist to protect against data loss and may persist for a limited period after data is deleted, after which they are overwritten in the ordinary course.

7. Data residency

We are based in Queensland, Australia. Our infrastructure providers are located outside Australia (in countries that may include the United States, the European Union and Singapore), and media may be served via a global content network. See section 6 of our Privacy Policy for the cross-border disclosure details.

8. Your control over your data

  • Export — you can export any of your content as a portable .fitpack file at any time.
  • Delete locally — remove items, or clear the app's data, on your device.
  • Delete in the cloud — request account deletion to remove your cloud data (see section 4).
