Protected sharing: send your work without giving it away

Sequal Team · 18 June 2026 · 4 min read

You put real work into your activities, sequences and programs. When you share them, you should be able to send the experience without handing over something anyone can copy, rebrand and pass on. That’s what protected sharing in Sequal Pro is for.

What makes a share “protected”

Every shared .fitpack is:

  • Signed — the file carries a tamper-proof stamp of who created it. Edit it and it stops being valid; it can’t be forged.
  • Time-limited — a share is valid for a window (5 days by default). After that, new imports stop.
  • Branded — coaches and studios can add their logo, name, colours and contact details, so every pack you send looks like yours.

What recipients can (and can’t) do

Anyone signed in can import a pack shared with them. Once imported, they can play it, add their own items around it, reorder and delete — but they can’t edit your items or re-share them. Your work stays attributed to you.

And if they imported it within the window, it’s saved under Settings → Manage shares → Imported by me, so they can re-import it later even after the share expires — until they choose to forget it.

Why it works this way

Sequal is local-first and privacy-friendly, and there’s no perfect way to stop someone copying a file once they have it. Protected sharing isn’t heavy-handed DRM — it’s about provenance and respect: your name travels with your work, casual re-sharing is curbed by the time limit, and recipients get a clean, branded experience.
