Media & recording

Add audio, video and YouTube to your activities in Sequal, record your own cues, and understand local vs cloud media storage.

You can make activities richer with media — a motivational track, an instructional video, or a recorded voice cue. Add media while creating or editing an activity.

Ways to add media

  • Upload — choose an audio or video file, or an image, from your device. Sequal compresses it on your device before storing it.
  • Record in-app — capture your own audio or video without leaving Sequal.
  • Stream from YouTube — paste a link to play a video, or just its audio, inside the activity.

Playback options

When an activity has media, you can control how it plays:

  • Restart policy — loop the media continuously, or restart it per set, per rep or per phase.
  • Sound source — when both audio and video are present, choose whether the audio track plays, the video plays, or both.
  • Ducking — spoken cues automatically lower the media volume while they speak.

Local vs cloud media

  • On your device: media you add is stored locally and is free. You can see your local media totals in Settings → Local data.
  • In the cloud: if you use cloud sync (Sequal Pro), your media is backed up too, up to a 1 GB storage limit per account.

You are responsible for the media you add. Only add audio, video or images you own or are licensed to use — Sequal cannot check media for copyright. See the Copyright & Takedown Policy.

Tips

  • Compress long videos before relying on them in the cloud, to stay within the 1 GB limit.
  • A short recorded “3… 2… 1… go” cue makes interval workouts feel more guided.
