Account, data & deletion
Manage your Sequal account and data — what we store, how to export it, and how to delete your account and cloud data.
You’re in control of your data in Sequal. Here’s what’s stored, how to take it with you, and how to remove it.
Where your data lives
- On your device — your library (activities, sequences, programs and local media) is stored locally and works offline. You can see totals in Settings → Local data.
- In the cloud — only if you use cloud sync. A copy of your content and media (up to 1 GB) is backed up to our providers, located outside Australia.
For full details, see the Privacy Policy and Data & Retention Policy.
Keeping your own copy
Your library lives on your device and isn’t removed when you delete your account. To keep it
safe across devices, use cloud sync (Sequal Pro). Sequal Pro
can also bundle your content into a portable .fitpack to share or move — see
Export, share & import.
Recently deleted items
Deleting an activity, sequence or program doesn’t remove it straight away — it moves to Settings → Recently Deleted, where you can restore it for 30 days. After that it’s permanently removed (on your device and, if you use cloud sync, in the cloud). You can also delete something permanently from there at any time to free up space. Deletes and restores sync across your devices.
How long workout history is kept in the cloud
Your workout history and weight entries power the Progress dashboard. In the cloud backup they’re kept for:
- Sequal Pro — up to 3 years;
- Free account — 6 months;
- No account — nothing is stored in the cloud at all.
Data on your own device is never auto-deleted — the windows above apply only to the cloud copies. You can clear your history yourself anytime from the app.
Delete your account
You can request account deletion from within the app.
- There is a 30-day cooling-off period, during which you can cancel the request by signing in.
- After that, your personal details are anonymised (name, email, mobile number, sign-in IDs and security data) and your cloud data is removed.
- Limited financial records may be kept where the law requires (for tax and accounting).
Deleting your account removes your cloud data. Anything stored on your device stays there until you remove it from the device, so your local library isn’t lost.
Privacy and telemetry
- No analytics or error reporting is collected unless you opt in; it’s off by default and you can change it any time.
- To make a privacy request (access, correction or deletion), email contact@sequal.app.
