Playing workouts

How the Sequal player works — timers, controls, voice cues, the mini-player and your automatic workout history.

Press play on any activity, group, sequence or program and Sequal runs the whole thing for you — counting, pacing and cueing out loud.

What you can play

  • An activity — runs its sets, reps or phases with a visual timer.
  • A group — plays each activity in turn, with prev/next.
  • A sequence — plays the full session, group by group.
  • A program day — plays that day’s session and logs your progress.

During a session

  • Progress rings show time remaining and shift colour as the clock runs down.
  • Voice cues announce starts, ends and encouragement (text-to-speech), ducking your music when they speak.
  • Breathing phases show a per-phase countdown for inhale / hold / exhale.
  • Metronome keeps a steady BPM where you’ve set a cadence.
  • Controls — pause, resume, and skip to the next or previous item.
  • Mini-player — collapse the player to a compact bar so you can browse while a session runs.

Sessions are designed to be eyes-free — set up voice cues and you can keep moving without watching the screen.

Workout history

Every session you play is logged automatically with its duration and reps. Your recent plays appear under History on the Home screen, so you can see what you did and when.
